This is an ongoing class for beginners and continuing students with a focus on the fundamentals of yoga including standing, sitting, twisting and supine poses. Basic inverted poses like Setubhanda (bridge) and Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) are introduced.Explore the fundamentals of a flowing yoga practice as well as traditional poses, pranayama (breathing techniques) and yoga history / philosophy. You’ll challenge yourself as you work at your own level in a safe and supportive environment. Modifications will be offered as you practice each pose.These classes unite your breath with your body offering a variety of poses accessible to all levels of yoga practitioners. Classes will include building strength in the core, balance in the body, as well as increasing flexibility and range of motion. Calm your mind, feel alive and revived.Practice will begin with centering / gentle movement to release the day and bring awareness to the breath followed by Yin Yoga postures. The long held Yin poses will release the body’s connective tissues and provide ease and fluidity to the body and peace to the mind.
